The thin wooden wick is wide & placed horizontally in the center of the candle. Since the wick is wood, you will hear a quiet crackling sound much like you hear when a wood fire is burning. Be sure to read the care instructions as any wooden wick candle needs trimming to 1/8" prior to burning. Definitely recommend these candles. During the holiday season I found these on sale, so they were a great value! Located in S Carolina. Bought on Amazon, but Yankee Candle also carries them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great but Hard to Light Wonderful smell and size. It however, is a nightmare to light. Maybe I'm just incompetent with a wick this size but it takes about a full minute each time for me to get it to properly light. That being said it also sounds amazing. Especially since it's larger there's extra crackles. The lid fits super snug and keeps it nice and sealed when not in use.

This candle by Woodwick in the scent Gilded Sands is a 16 ounce candle, with a 60-100 hour burn time. I really like this candle! It has a scent of fig and guaiacwood. I think it is a warm and cozy scent, maybe a hint of vanilla and musk? A perfect scent for any time of the year. My boyfriend didn’t like it, but I think it’s great (and so does other people who smelled it). It’s a big candle with a nice shape, so you get a lot of candle for $34. Also the glass shape it comes in can be used after as a decorative bowl! I think it looks better than normal round candles. I would definitely buy this once I run out!
