I love the fireside scent. It's sweet and smokey and the scent fills the room. The candles lasts a long time too, mine lasted a whole fall/winter season. It could have lasted longer but I have a jerk cat who knocked it down and broke it . You won't be disappointed, buy this!

Love the Fireside candle. Has a nice fragrance that coupled with the crackling sound, has a cold weather cozy feel to it. I like the ellipsis shape too it burns bright and is pretty with the lights off.

Fireside is such an unexpected delight with a room filling, lingering scent that is not overpowering. I was worried the the wick would not last as long as the traditional wick, but it did and my whole family absolutely loves the crackle!!

Relaxation in a Candle
I ordered this candle and thought it would smell great and be something my husband might enjoy. We often light this one when watching a movie together, and it is so relaxing. It smells like a walk in the woods with a pleasant smoky smell mixed with something a little zesty. I also like the gray color and the vessel is great to reuse for another purpose once the candle is gone. It has a solid throw and is one we'll buy again.

Surprisingly pleasant scent, no crackle though
I expected the candle to crackle and pop, and so far the best it has done is that "whoosing" noise of a strong fire, but at least it offers some ambience over a normal candle. The flame flickered very fast at the beginning, almost anxiety inducing, but settled down as the evening wore on. The scent is a real winner, I hate flowery scents in general, but this only has a hint of flowers (like a party where someone is wearing perfume, but you're not sure who) and a base of woods (but more like being in the woods and not the intense smell of a Xmas tree indoors) and a hint of something smoked (but less smoke and more singed marshmallows). I am in love with the scent and will end up buying another soon.

This was a much loved gift given
This was purchased as a gift. I wish I had known about the ability to add a photo and message before I sent this to my daughter for her birthday. It just so happened that I chose her favorite scent from Yankee Candle. She was not aware of that Woodwick was part of Yankee Candle. She really loved the gift so I cannot attest to much firsthand about it.

My all time favorite!
I have been getting the fireside Elipse candles for years now! They have the best smell, not too strong and not too perfumey. Plus the crackle is great and the long wick looks nice when lit! If you want a nice subtle but natural relaxing smell I highly recommend!

I have not tried the Wood Smoke candle but I love Fireside. It smells just like a wood burning fireplace at home. I often burn it in the evenings (dont't have a real fireplace, sigh) when it's chilly outside. Guests coming into the house ask &quot;where is your fireplace&quot;? Hope this helps a little.

Not at all. I find the the ellipse candle burns for a good amount of time. I would venture to say 80 - 100 hours, maybe more.
