In return putting out more aroma, making the candle seem stronger. However the strength of the candles are the same no mater what size. It is all about the wick size on how fast it burns. The Ellipse candles in my opinion take on the ambiance of a fireplace. The longer wick leaves you with more of the crackles and pops and the visual stimulation of a fireplace with the longer burning wick! A smaller candle with a standard wood wick still gives you the same crackles and pops, just will burn slower.
